You have heard of cookie dough….now there is Matcha Cookie dough! A tasty, totally raw, guilt free, refined sugar free, gluten free, dairy free and deliciousness packed snack! Raise your hand if you have had a cheeky bite of unbaked cookie dough. I am already picturing a myriad of hands shooting up on high! Well, sorry to burst your cookie dough bubble..but the Food Drug and Administration (which protects the public health of USA residents), has cautioned people to stay clear of raw cookie dough after an outbreak of E coli due to the raw flour.
But do not despair, this Matcha cookie dough is a tastier, healthier better replacement which will not leave you sick..but thriving! Do not be afraid of the weird name and bright green colour though!…Matcha means “powdered tea”. It’s basically grounded Japanese green tea leaves. The health benefits of Matcha powder exceed those of green tea. This super powder contains approximately 130 more antioxidants than regular green tea. (Antioxidants delay some types of cell damage).
Aside from it’s high antioxidant content, according to Matcha Green tea suppliers, Pure Chimp, 1 serving of Matcha powder is equivalent to 10 cups of green tea. This wonder powder can also improve your skin from within, has anti-ageing properties and aids weight loss. Now that sounds like a great deal to me.
The usual consumption of Matcha Powder is within tea. But following @PureChimp on Instagram has opened me up to a world of Matcha-versatility!
So, when @PureChimp offered to send me some Matcha green tea powder, I was so excited to whip a dessert and add to their interesting array of recipes! I was very impressed with the quality and taste of the Pure Chimp Matcha Green Tea. It added a lovely touch to this recipe. I made this recipe just last week and have made this recipe 4 times already for friends and family!
These healthy cookie dough balls are super high in fibre…thanks to the oats. They make for the perfect 3:02PM snack. They are ready in just five minutes also. No butter, flour, eggs, refined sugar or oil needed in this recipe. It is a healthier twist on the classic dessert. Tag me if you try these balls! And check out @PureChimp ‘s Instagram for more Matcha filled recipes!
